John Mahoney

John Mahoney is the Manager of Coldwell Banker and the licensed Broker. He began his real estate career with the company as a sales agent in 1981 before assuming the position of Manager in 1989, later becoming a partner in the firm in 2001. John grew up in Perth, Australia, attending Scotch College high school. After being drafted into the Australian Army and serving overseas in Borneo and Malaysia, he returned to Perth and began college. John graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. Before settling in Durango John traveled extensively and lived and worked in Sydney, London and New York. In his time away from work John spends time around soccer. He refereed high school and college soccer games around Colorado for 25 years and was also a National Soccer Referee Instructor. Now he continues his interest by being the Fort Lewis College �play by play� soccer radio announcer. He also enjoys running, hiking, ski-ing and local arts events. John is married to the nationally renowned textile artist, author and teacher, Ilze Aviks.
