Background
Julie Holligan Westendorff joined Coldwell Banker Heritage House Realtors in 2006 after eleven years practicing law in Colorado. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Julie came to Durango in 1995 to work in private law practice and later joined the Southern Ute Indian Tribe as the prosecutor. She continues to maintain an active law license as well as real estate license in Colorado.
Julie has welcomed the easy and pleasant transition from the contentiousness of the courtroom to life as real estate broker. And certainly, years of negotiation experience, interpreting contracts, and reaching agreements are assets that Julie brings to work for every client. As a Durango resident since 1995, Julie has seen the community grow and prosper. She has shared her time and talents with various community organizations. She has been a coach of the Durango High School Mock Trial team and a little league baseball team. Julie currently is on the Community Corrections Screening Committee and on the local domestic violence legal committee. Over the years, she has also served on a number of area non-profit boards of directors, including the Women's Resource Center and the Humane Society. She is committed to making our community a good place to live.
Julie is married to Bill Westendorff, a long-time Durango restaurateur and Realtor. Julie and Bill migrate to Baja California seasonally to fish, eat shrimp, and practice their Spanish. In Durango, you can catch them walking Main Avenue or camping in the mountains. Julie is preparing to hike the final 250 miles of the Via de la Plata, Camino de Santiago trail in Spain.
